- Reviewed in the United States on April 5, 2024My mom got me the Dear Girl version when I was in High School and wrote a little note in it. I read it every so often because it reminds me to be strong and brave (corny I know) as the girl she raised me to be. I just had my first baby, a little boy 11 weeks ago and I found the "Dear Baby" near me and I immediately picked it up. I thought there must be one for boys too and here it is. They are so cute and easy to read to your littles. It is a good reminder like "Don't be afraid to get dirty" or "remember to share" and "make sure to always follow your dreams" Those may not be with this book has in it(I have only looked at once) but it has things in there like that that remind boys to be brave, and strong, and curious, and Intune with their emotions. I hope my son loves to read this and is reminded that his mom thinks he is the best thing ever and he can do anything he puts his mind to, and I will always be there to support him. the drawings are so cute, and the words are simple making it easy to read when they get a little older and start reading.
GET THE BOOK!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 16, 2022So my daughter had gotten "dear girl" from her librarian as a gift because she loved checking it out so much. So I ordered this book and I selected "used" for just a few dollars and let me tell you. It didn't have that new book crackle... But it was still crisp and clean. There was a page towards the center that had been folded twice (probably by accident from a previous reader) and then straightened out so noticing the creases was difficult. But I'll take a creased page for the price.
Now this story is adorable. If you're trying to find a good empowering story for a young one that you love, this is definitely the story. It's all about understanding your own person and understanding that it's okay to be YOU rather than what other people want you to be. Everytime I read this or dear girl I get a little teary eyed. It's beautiful and well written and very relatable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good lessons
Cute book, would like it as a board book so I can let my baby turn the pages. I bought it during a sale so it was worth the money as the “lessons” are what we were seeking.
