- Reviewed in the United States on October 30, 2024My toddler loves this book. We read it almost every night before bed. I like the illustrations and the rhyming. Some children's books can be a mouthful to read, but this one is easy to get into the rhythm of the rhyme. My toddler loves the line "Pee-ew! Stinky! Fumes are thick! Back to bunks now, double-quick!" We bought our first copy at a used kids sale and it's been such a hit that I bought a second copy for a friend's baby off of Amazon.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 15, 2015I ordered this book, sight unseen, as a gift for my niece's new baby. I'm giving it 5 stars because I think Laura Sassi's rhyming story of Noah and the animals is delightfully well done. Jane Chapman's illustrations are also delightful, BUT it REALLY bothers me that she left Noah's wife out of the pictures. In our current culture, when children have fewer and fewer role models of healthy, whole families, to have Noah sleeping in bed with no sign of his wife anywhere is not good. I would encourage parents, teachers, and other caregivers who share this book with children not to ignore this absence. Discuss it with them. Ask them where they think Noah's wife is, since the Bible clearly tells us she's on the Ark. Is she not in bed with her husband, sound to sleep like Noah, because she's off somewhere else on the Ark taking care of Armadillo who's seasick? Or maybe she's being a midwife and helping Mama Rabbit deliver new baby bunnies? Or maybe she started reading a book and it's so interesting, she can't bear to put it down to come to bed until she's finished it? Where do they think Noah's wife might be? This can be a good opportunity for discussion and an opportunity to stimulate creative thinking. But please don't just ignore Mrs. Noah's absence.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 29, 2024Suitable for toddlers, as there are no dark elements to the ark story. Cute depiction of the animals getting scared and wanting to cuddle up with Noah. Rhyming story.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 10, 2023My grandson loves animals and animal books. He actually saw this book in an add and kept saying, we need to order that book (He's 2 1/2!)
So being a good grandmother, I ordered it and it really is a cute book with great quality.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 28, 2019A fun adaptation of the classic Bible story. No, it’s not a book for teaching the story (at least in and of itself), but I don’t think it was the author’s intention to be. There are life-saving rings, toothbrushes, rain jackets, umbrellas, and other modern-day elements in the illustrations. And absolutely no direct mention of God. But there are other books for that. This is just a fun, cute, well-written story about Noah and the animals. It’s one of my 2-year-old’s favorites (and my husband loves it, too)! The illustrations are also wonderful!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet illustrations, simple text
This is a great little book for Christian family story time. It's not super "in your face" biblical, just a sweet story about animals and an easy introduction to the story of Noah's Ark for toddlers.
