Editorial Reviews
Review
"Zany adventures, a wacky plot and plenty of slapstick humor make this a quick, enjoyable read. A solid start to a new chapter-book series."―Kirkus
"This series opener zips along at an energetic pace that will keep readers actively engaged. Plenty of humor and adventure [...] and the inclusion of science facts at the end adds an educational element...Readers will look to the stars for more interplanetary adventures to come."―School Library Journal
"The plot moves right along, helping the newly independent reader stay engaged. The description of the map is especially enticing: who wouldn't love a 3-D map that changes with every turn, opening up whole new galaxies? Occasional black-and-white cartoon illustrations add to the fun and keep the pages turning. The number 1 on the book's spine indicates that this is just the first adventure for Archie-here's to more to come!"―The Horn Book
"The plotting never overdoes it, the surprises are gentle, and the humor is always on target for a young demographic―Booklist

- Reviewed in the United States on January 3, 2020I am a certified teacher and private tutor. I bought it to use with striving readers in grades 3 and 4 who are not reading on grade level, and I think this book would work well for young readers in grades 2 - 4. Who wouldn't want to go to work with their dad if he had a job like this?
- Reviewed in the United States on September 19, 2016Funny story about an eight-year-old boy who learns his father is not just a taxi driver, but a space-taxi driver. Although I had a technical thought about each planet along the space route having its own local taxi service for pickups, the story quickly consumed me and had me laughing about hilarious space cats. I recommend this book for young readers and parents reading to their kids. A delightful novel for young imaginations and families encouraging young ones to read.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 19, 2016it is a good book
- Reviewed in the United States on January 10, 2020My son and I usually read before bed each night, but this is our first chapter book (that's taking multiple nights to get through) but he's hooked! He won't let me not read this to him before bed. It's fast paced and uses language he's interested in.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 23, 2016This is a fun book. My son and daughter both enjoyed this as a read aloud at night. We bought the whole series. I am sure my kids will want to read them independently when they get more proficient at reading.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 27, 2019I thought it was a good book.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 11, 2017It is good for younger kids who aren't comfortable with reading yet. It is also a good read aloud book
