- Reviewed in the United States on December 4, 2011This is one of the first books by Mr. Van Allsburg that I experienced many years ago when I started teaching elementary school. I love the drawings that bring this lovely dream to life for the little boy (and us readers!). Now I need to find the video that was made of the story! I've wanted it in my library for such a long time, so I thought it's about time to get a copy. For parents, it's a sweet way to teach young children about the great monuments around the globe.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 12, 2014Van Allsburg is a genious. I have many of his books and my students absolutely love his stories and the exquisite illustrations.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 16, 2010This book has an interesting way to introduce the famous landmarks to the children. I read this book to my children who are below 6 years old and they love to hear it. However, I wish this book is also published in colourful art instead of black and white only. Although it is very beautifully drawn, I think if it has a bit more colour... it'll be even more interesting to look for the younger children.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 21, 2013I enjoy all of Van Allsburg's books. They always have an interesting perspective twist. This is no exception. If one enjoys any of his books, they'll enjoy this one, as well! :)
- Reviewed in the United States on May 20, 2013The book arrived in pristine condition. I am a big fan of Chris Van Allsburg, and have acquired a library of his work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dream of a book
Chris Van Alsberg has been a favourite of mine since goodness knows when. We had the pleasure to meet him whilst in the US many years ago.
His draftsmanship and imagination are just, er, unimaginable? I collect quality books for young people and have many. many others by Chris. Ben's dream is clever and educational with the trademark exquisite drawings (Harris Burdick is another). Wonderful.
