My granddaughter absolutely loves this book. We wore the old one out and had to buy a new one.

We purchased this book over 25 years ago when our children were little. Now we're buying it from our grand kids. The two and half year old is already memorizing it! Great Story, fun to read and entertaining!

My Granddaughter Reighlyn loved this book for her 3rd birthday.

I purchased this book for my kids since it was recommended by a friend. Chicken pox has been going around off and on and even friends with fully vaccinated kids are getting it, so I figured this would be a fun book to get for the kids since it's only a matter of time before they end up with chicken pox too. I love that the book goes through all of the basics of what kids can expect with chicken pox such as oatmeal baths and pink calamine lotion. It brought back memories of childhood when my little brother and I were covered in pink lotion, eating lot of ice cream and having my daddy's old tube socks on our hands to remind us not to scratch! My almost 4-year-old son calls it "my itchy book" and loves it. He has been asking us to read it to him night after night and multiple times during the day. Apparently itchy chicken pox is just as funny as farting and loose teeth to him. The large text and short sentences are excellent for new and emerging readers and the repetitiveness and rhyming of words makes it very enjoyable for young children. Even my almost 2-year-old asks for the "itchy book" daily.

This book is perfect for toddlers and pre schoolers who have chicken pox. It includes all the details that are part of the experience, in an age appropriate way.
My little ones loved it and asked to have the book read to them so many times until they were ‘reading’ it on their own!

Like other reviews (check them out), I totally appreciate the fact that this book is a simple way to explain chicken pox to kids. It is itchy red spots all over, and will clear up on its own. Most importantly, it is nothing to be scared of.

So nice to have found a book that doesn't try to cause fear or panic over a mild childhood illness.

My son loves this book and has pretty much memorized it word for word. :) I want him to get accustomed to reality since he constantly comes home, at three years old, repeating cultural norms that he has learned in daycare. I am reminding him weekly that a doctor is not ALWAYS necessary. A lot of times, mommies and daddies and his big strong body can take care of itself... Doctors are great for emergencies, but most times, the body can help itself when you give it what it needs. Books like this help reinforce that truth... because what toddler thinks their parents know more than they do?

Cute book that sums up chicken pox accurately and truthfully - as a quick virus that serves a purpose and is over before you know it! Poisoning your kids to avoid a purposeful, harmless virus is idiotic.

Bought this for our almost 3 year old with chickenpox. He wanted it read 8 times in a row as soon as it arrived and many times since. He loves it and it seems to have helped him understand what is happening and that he’ll feel better soon.

Bought for my daughter who got chicken pox. It arrived to late, as she just get back to school, but she still love new tricky words, and she read it 3 times today. The last time, she actually read it in bed just before sleep
