Editorial Reviews
Review
Howard B. Wigglebottom Learns to Listen is a cute story with a good message. It doesn’t preach, but instead demonstrates by example what it means to be a good listener. There is also a lesson guide after the story, which highlights the important points and offers discussion questions. This book would be a great classroom resource, as well as one parents could use to establish good behavior at home.
Source: Alice Berger, Berger Book ReviewsThe students were so excited about this book…It really does a great job of showing what happens when you don’t listen and that good things happen when you do listen...very motivating…students found the book funny and were able to understand the lesson of listening…It was a fun way to learn about positive behavior in the classroom.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 19, 2024My little struggles this summer when he was moved from infant care to preschool. He really wasn’t listening or following direction, partially because of other factors, but this book was very helpful to read multiple times and to bring up when he was struggling.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 27, 2012I work with children, providing Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Services under the supervision of a licensed therapist. Many of my little clients have treatment plans that require me to reach them and help them practice listening skills. Howard B. Wigglebottom has been a great resource because the kids really identify with Howard. They love the story and the pictures and I enjoy using the study questions provided in the back of the book. This is a great resource for any child.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 24, 2024I read this with my 4yr old who tends to do as he please until I ask if he wants to be like Howard B Wigglebottom. Lol it works.

I have to say I loved the cute illustrations done in what seems like oils, and though the storyline didn't have much punch, I think it got the message across.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 11, 2024My little was having a hard time with listening, so I bought a few books for us to read so he could work on those skills. This is his favorite one. Also, his listening skills have improved. There is a part in the book about how to listen, so it was useful to have other words to use to help him to understand what all listening entails.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 2, 2023My students loved the video of this book, when I happened to find it on YouTube! I had to have the book, too! It is perfect for a social skills lesson! 💕
