I buy these books for my 8 year old niece. She has two rescue dogs and is an avid reader. She has been reading double the number of books that the school recommends so the books might be better for children who are 9 or 10. The her dogs were dumped by breeders because they are mixed breeds. These are great stories and have gotten her interested in rescue.
