We have been big readers from the word go and now my almost 4 year old is trying to work out words based on her phonics knowledge I thought an easy book would be a good idea. I had, however, started with easy books with my now 13 year old son but they were rather bland so this new series has turned out to be 'just right' by mixing the adult reading section first followed by the child reading section second, then adult, then child approach so it turns into a real adventure together and makes the story more interesting and pacey with the adult participation too. Real bonding time - add a few daft additional ideas of your own into the story and it gets even better! I do like the 'checking understanding' bits at the back of each book, they are fun and more opportunity for praise.

I bought these when my little girl first expressed an interest in reading and they are lovely - really engaging and great stories with a little for your child to read (often repeated words from the story which the adult reads).
