There are a lot of new characters but a lack of some of the biggest ones like the people at school, Ms.Goldblatt, and Melody isn't in it too much but great plot and probably my favorite one yet.
The end is a cliffhanger but got me really excited to read more!

The author (probably all of 20 years old today) used crayons like a kid (at least she drew good enough to be actually published) to make a story about two little girls who go on a trip across U.S. with two "fathers".

Between visits to famous American landmarks, our two heroines run into a few serious issues that would surely fascinate a jaded adult reader: rejection from a biological father who had ran off to marry a blonde trophy bimbo wife who tried to be a "best friend" to her stepdaughter as well as having two homosexual fathers who AREN'T even related to you to begin with (hey, where did dusky-skinned Julie originally come from? From the trash can in the girls' restroom at some high school prom 12 years ago, where she would be rescued and nurtured by a young gay couple looking for a private spot to neck? Wow, the traditional family unit is REALLY deteriorating these days!)

And why is "Daddy" Chang colored a canary yellow, BTW?
