- Reviewed in the United States on November 16, 2014The Thingy Things series is one of the best we've found for teaching our son emotions. Moosey Moose is a fantastic short read easy for children. The vibrant colours keep my 17th month old's attention like nothing else! Every time he see's this book, we must read it about 15 times before he is ready to put it down. He even imitates a mad face and grunts when we read Moosey Moose is MAD! We've now purchased more of this series and he is just as pleased as he was with Moosey Moose. I definitely recommend this to any parent as the short fun stories are invaluable to teaching our little ones emotions.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 31, 2016Moosey Mosse mad is happier than not. I love the Thingy Things books!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 20, 2017My son loves this book! exactly as described!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 20, 2015My daughter, who just turned 4, absolutely loves this book. She wants to read it every night, and when we first got it, she wanted to read it five times in a row, every night. It's one of those books where as an adult you might not get what the big deal is, but to a child it's hilarious. She has Moosey Moose memorized now and reads it to herself while laughing hysterically. Even though it is a short and simple book, it was well worth price for all of those giggles.
We read through some of the other thingy-things books at the bookstore, but this one stands out as being a bit more comical.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 19, 2011While Moosey Moose doesn't have the tense build up of the Whaley Whale storyline, his avant garde sense of fashion and firm stance on what he wants can be a statement of the bigger picture of going with your gut regardless of the pressure that society puts on you (to wear short pants or long pants, as the case may be). One should not be tethered to the constraints of wearing pants on their lower extremities. They should be free to wear them on their antlers - or lacking antlers, one should be free to wear their pants on their head. At least that's what I got out of this wonderfully illustrated story :)
- Reviewed in the United States on January 11, 2002I saw this book while browsing in my favorite bookstore and immediately loved it, even though I was at least 12 years older than the readers it is written for. The drawings and story are perfect for children, but older readers will get a kick out of Moosey Moose too. I love the page wherein "Moosey Moose is mad" and also the illustration of him snubbing his short pants in favor of the longer ones. This is the best of the four Thingy Things books I've seen. It is so delightful that Moosey Moose has been a topic of conversation at my high school for a year so far.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 18, 2016~ from the Library
MOOSEY MOOSE is a small little book that is written at the Kindergarten reading level. It has a simple sentence on every other page, and contains just 34 words. It's part of themed series with other books titled, LAMBY LAMB, SNAILY SNAIL.
Sample text from three pages:
Moosey Moose is mad.
Yes, Moosey Moose is mad!
Why? Why is Moosey Moose mad?

The artwork in MOOSEY MOOSE is abstract, but fun. I was actually put off by the mustardy page color which makes the contrast with the black, yellow, and orange Moosey colors, muddy. You may have to run this book by your own toddler, if you are reading it to them, to see what they think. Kindergartners will likely not notice.
MOOSEY MOOSE's story is about a temper tantrum. The reader enters the tale when Moosey is already mad. We then get to him laying on his back, kicking his little legs. The story resolves well, but the answer is pretty silly. The value here, other than reading practice and entertainment, is that the book gives adults an opportunity to talk about emotions with small children.
