    Lisa McGuinness is the author of two novels: Catarina's Ring and Across the Deep. In addition she has written several lifestyle books including Hoppy Trails: A Field Guide to NorCal Craft Breweries and Meaningful Bouquets. She has photographed both Hoppy Trails and Windows on Provence by Georgeanne Brennan and is the co-author of numerous children's books. For her day job, she's the Creative Director of Mango Publishing and in her spare time works as the Executive Director of SE Asia Rescue Coalition & Haven (SEARCH search4hope.com) and travels often to SE Asia where she volunteers in a safe house for trafficked and at risk women and children. She has two grown children and lives in Northern California with her husband and two hilarious dachshund mix dogs named Hazel and Wyatt. My son (2) was unnecessarily afraid of bees, so I decidedly to get him this book in an attempt to educate him out of his fear. Besides being a colorful piece of work, it has a cute story and good facts at the end. We now have a cup of water outside for the bees and my little guy doesn't cry every time he sees one

Super cute book. Good story line. 19 month old son loves the pictures and animotion. The book itself was bigger than I expected but that's not to say it's big I just pictured something more along the lines of other scanimation books (i.e "Waddle"). Good size but originally bought this for airplane entertainment for my son, it's too big for that in my opinion. We love it though and will get much use out of it while at home!

I love these books and so does my 3-year-old! The Bee & Me is an adorable story, but along with the animation on each page, it is a truly great book. My daughter gets so excited when I turn the pages of the book. The book itself is very well made and has already withstood a lot of abuse. (LO loves to make the bee's wings flap over and over and over). We also have the book about the turtles, and it is equally as great. Highly recommend!

I have been involved with Friends of the Earth's Bee Cause Campaign and find this book really helpful. It's a visual treat for children, with it's holographic 'moving' pictures it is very well illustrated and has excellent information about how bees are important to us. There is also a bonus of added 'facts' about bees in the back that children find fascinating such as: 'In the summer bees spend a lot of time collecting water to cool their hives. You can help by leaving a cup of water in your yard for them'. I love this book and also Richard Towler's  Honeybee's Busy Day  Both are fabulous resources for finding out about the importance of bees and how to help them.
