Some of the fiercest and most skilled hunters in the world, great white sharks use intellect, camouflage, and a strong sense of smell, hearing, and sight to track and kill their prey. Watch these fearsome animals as they grow from small pups into full-grown sharks―honing the instincts and skills they’ll need to become ferocious predators.

I ordered this for a reading student I work with. He is in love with sharks, and this book his the nail right on the head!

It has plenty of detail and information without being too overwhelming. The pictures are nice also. (There are some pictures of a shark attacking a seal, which my 10 year old student enjoyed, but some younger or more sensitive children may be bothered by. However I did not find them to be gory or over the top at all.)

This book contains excellent photographs of sharks. It discusses in some detail great white sharks, their physiology, predatory tactics, prey, and birthing. It is usually 1 page of photo and 1 page of a couple sentences that describe the photo. It's so well written that it feels like a story. I was disappointed that the book didn't address sleep and rest, speed, frequency of shark attacks along the coasts and what to do if you see a fin. I was amazed by the photography. It showed a close-up of a great whitems teeth - 2 rows, very sharp, and, most interestingly to me, each tooth had jagged SERRATED TEETH LIKE A STEAK KNIFE. I GIVE IT AN A- and recommend it.

I ALWAYS LOVE THE BOOK SELLERS, I HAVE NEVER YET HAD A PROBLEM WITH THEM OR WITH AMAZON, AND OF COURSE, THANKYOU FOR THE MOST EXCELLENT PRICES YOU OFFER US BOOK JUNKIES. AS FAR AS THIS BOOK IS CONCERNED, IT'S OKAY AS FAR AS THE PHOTOS GO...BUT ONLY OKAY. THERE ARE NOT VERY MANY PICTURES. OF COURSE IT'S MORE FOR A CHILD THAN AN ADULT, I BOUGHT THE BOOK FOR THE PHOTOS SO I COULD DO QUICK SKETCHES OF SHARKS, IT HAS A COUPLE OF USEFUL PHOTOS BUT THEY ARE NOT HIGH QUALITY...HOWEVER, I AM NOT GOING TO COMPLAIN TO MUCH BECAUSE THE BOOK WAS ONLY A FEW CENTS. I'LL DONATE THIS ONE TO MY LIBRARY. THE BOOK IS WORTH THE PRICE IF YOU BUY IT FOR UNDER 5 BUCKAROOS. THANKS AGAIN TO THE BOOK-DEALERS-WE LOVE YOU AND HOW EASY AMAZON HAS MADE IT TO FIND THE BOOKS I WANT TO TRY OUT.
