Purchase options and add-ons
Lola loves to go to the library with her daddy. Every night she reads a new story, and the next day, she acts it out. One day she's a fairy princess, the next day she goes on a trip to Lagos! She becomes a tiger, a farmer, a pilot. . . . what will Lola be next?
Children and adults will love following along with Lola's adventures. LOLA LOVES STORIES is a wonderful introduction to the power of reading and how it can inspire young minds at the earliest ages.

Grrr! I’m a Tiger!
Lola and her daddy read a story about a tiger, and the next day, Lola pretends she is one! With the help of an adult, make your own tiger mask.
- 1 paper plate
- a piece of elastic
- 3 pipe cleaners
- black and orange paper, markers, or crayons
- scissors
- glue
- Color your plate orange or glue on a piece of orange paper. Ask an adult to help you cut out holes for the eyes. Draw on stripes or glue on strips of black construction paper.
- Twist together three pipe cleaners in the middle and glue them to the center of your mask. Have an adult help you cut out a triangle of black paper for the nose. Glue this triangle over the pipe cleaners. Now your tiger has a nose and whiskers! Cut out two circles of orange paper for the ears. Glue those to the top of your mask.
- Finally, ask an adult to punch a hole on either side of the mask. Then loop one piece of elastic through each hole and tie on either end.

About the author
I feel lucky to have a life 100% dedicated to books - I write and edit stories for little kids and their families.
I'm best known as the author of the series about Lulu and Zeki (in the UK) or Lola and Leo (in the US), though I've written over 25 picture books.
I work hard to make the language appropriate for the age group AND the country it's being published in, so please make sure you order the Leo/Lola books if you're in the US or Canada, the Lulu/Zeki books if you're in the UK and Ireland. I've tried to update incorrect information on the book pages but it's a slow process.
My books are published by Alanna Max (UK), Charlesbridge (US), Barefoot Books, Chicken House/Scholastic, Little Tiger, Annick Press (Canada), O'Brien Press (Ireland), Glbburi and Froebel (Korea), Forlaget Arvids (Denmark), Pallas Editora (Brazil), EPIX (Sweden) and ICP (China).

- Reviewed in the United States on January 8, 2014For someone who works with books as a profession on a regular basis, I just HAD to have this entire series for my little girl who has already shown a great love for books and the library. I bought all 3 books ( Lola @ the Library, Lola Loves Stories, & Lola Reads to Leo) for my daughter for Christmas. I hope the author continues this series with a book 4. The only issue I had with this book was seeing the little boy character in the book with a "boy doll" that's sitting in a stroller when he meets up with Lola and her doll (also in a stroller) @ the library. Why not a toy truck or super hero? Just a heads up for those that would like to know... Other than that, I love Lola's imagination as she takes the books she's heard the night before and turns them into an adventure the following day.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 5, 2016I love this book. I'm always looking for books with diverse characters to add to my 2 year old's library, and this is the latest one I've gotten. It's a story about a little girl who reads books with her dad and acts out the stories the next day. It's very sweet and cute, and the lines are short so it holds my daughter's attention. The story has nothing to do with race, but I really like that the main character is diverse. I'd recommend this book to everyone.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 31, 2019I am an informal "aunt" to an immigrant family where everyone is learning English, including the young child. Helping the parents read to their child is important to me. This is a very useful and sweet book.
