Hello and welcome to my Amazon page.

I started writing for children at the age of 40 when I was working as a library assistant.There were plenty of rejections before my first picture book came out in 2001, but since then I have had lots more published.It's always a huge thrill to see the illustrations for the first time.

As well as books in my own name,I have poems in many anthologies for children and I was a 'ghost writer' for the exciting Dinosaur Cove series under the pseudonym Rex Stone.

It's great fun being a full time writer and I love to visit primary schools to share my books and talk about being an author, and to run poetry and/or creative writing workshops.

I agree with the other reviews about being disappointed in this book. We loved "How to Feed Your Cheeky Monkey" and "How to Bathe your Little Dinosaur" and just thought this one had to be as good. We were wrong. This one isn't up to the same standard. "Yawn" is meant to rhyme with "warm," which is a stretch. At the end, "Snore, snore, snore" is meant to rhyme with "paw," which it just doesn't. I wish the author had used "snuggly" instead of "huggly" for "huggly cuddle." "Huggly" is not a word. "Wriggle" is repeated in the same sentence: "...and when he starts to wriggle, do a happy bedtime dance, wriggle, giggle squiggle." One of those "wriggles" could have been replaced with a "wiggle" for variety. I don't recommend buying this book; you'll be stuck reading it after the others (which are great) and just get angry that it doesn't quite work.

this book left a lot to be desired after reading others by this duo. The rhymes and cadenve of the story falls flat. How to bathe your dinosaur and how to feed your cheeky monkey are much more enjoyable reads, and the kids agree!

We got the Dirty Little Dinosaur in our Bookbug package for 1 year olds and my little girl loves the wee story. The book had good rhythm and the illustrations are great. So I decided to hunt down more books like this by the same writer/illustrator and got this one. The sleepy Lion is a great book and my little one loves it as much as the Dino one, we also purchased the Cheeky Monkey and Snappy Croc all of which are read throughout the day and at bedtime several times over.

This book is one of the cutest book for toddler. How the tired lion falls asleep is interesting to know. The simple bed-time story is narrated very nicely. I ask some basic questions regarding pictures to my one year old which he can correlate. eg. Where is lion's teddy? Where is your teddy? He babbles and point them out. It's a fun interactive book. I recommend this book to parents who want to tuck in their sleepy lion/ lioness. 😄
