Dear Bunny... Hardcover – Picture Book, March 1, 2016

4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 28 ratings

A little girl writes to her bunny, telling him all the things she likes when they're together, from how he blows on her porridge to cool it down to playing in the park and holding hands at the zoo. As they adventure the world, they see big things, small things, creatures, colours and wonderful surprises wherever they go, but at the end, the little girl realises that the thing she loves most is her bunny! With a simple message about learning to be grateful for the things we have, most especially our loved ones, this is an ideal bedtime picture book.

Nice illustrations and sweet text. A quiet book. My son doesn’t understand the content but is engaged with the images.

Very sweet story with lovely, simple illustrations, some with foil that gleam. I bought this to give as a gift with a toy bunny I made.

Bought this for my son who we lovingly call rabbit (nickname)…. It is one of our favorite books (I’m the girl - he is the bunny) and it is beautifully illustrated. The story is not terribly complex (it is for little kids after all). The little girl is writing a letter to the bunny who has asked her what her favorite thing is … she names several and then concludes that her “favorite thing in the world” is the bunny. It is a simple and sweet story about how our love for others is greater than our love for objects or events or places …

I use this book a lot throughout the year as a way to remind my students about being grateful and how to stay positive. In a special education classroom things can get a little crazy. I like to give my students some quiet time and read aloud to them. I love this book because it teaches my students a very important lesson about appreciating the little things and finding the joys in our lives. After our time reading l like to take some time to talk to my kiddos and find out what they are grateful in their lives. Overall, this is an amazing book and my students and I absolutely LOVE it.

Great!

I bought this book because it's supposed to help express gratitude. It doesn't. It's just a compilation of things a girl likes, without any explanation of WHY she likes them. And the WHY is the most important part of the lesson--the way to teach thankfulness. For example, it's nice that the girl likes her oatmeal "lots" but what matters is it warms her belly and keeps her from being hungry.
The illustrations are pleasant and the book is ok but the publisher really oversold the concept. Had the author spent just a little more time on the narrative and perhaps bothered to use a single word one would associate with appreciation, a young reader might understand the point. I guess I'll just have to fill in the glaring gaps.

The illustrations in this book are wonderful. My little one was interested in the story line and the pictures on each page. He’s 18 months old and happily sat through the entire book. The premise was a little bit odd to me and I am used to books with more of a rhythm or rhyme but my little one didn’t seem to mind. I think I’ll get more used to it as I read it over and over again, because it will surely be requested many times.

Lovely story with beautiful illustrations. We bought second hand and for what we paid a little dissapointed in the quality as a bit bent and has old library stamps. But the story itself is lovely.
