Pip and the Bamboo Path Hardcover – Picture Book, February 5, 2019
Purchase options and add-ons
In the great forested heights of the Himalayas, many species live peacefully, but their lives are changing forever as humans cut down the trees that they call home. When Pip and her mother realize they are no longer safe in their familiar forest, the two red pandas embark on a journey to find the Bamboo Path, which should lead them to a new home. But the long road ahead is full of unfamiliar places, hidden dangers, and something neither Pip, nor her mother, has ever seen before--a bustling city.
This story is a charming tale of perseverance, which also highlights the plight of the endangered red pandas, who are losing their homes to deforestation.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 13, 2021I purchased this book on a whim because my daughter's nickname is "Pip" and the baby red panda in this book is also called Pip. I was delightfully surprised that the story is a perfect adaptation for young readers to learn about deforestation and animals losing their homes! It was informative, but not scary for young readers! My little one loves this book (even at 9 months old) and we hope to instill in her a love for nature and animals, just like her father and I share! This book is the perfect addition to our library!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 9, 2020My three year old daughter loves red pandas and she fell in love with this book instantly. She is also adopted and I think it's a great way to convey that things might get rough and change, but in the end it all works out. The illustrations are so beautiful as well. I love when she picks this book for me to read to her at bedtime.

5.0 out of 5 stars A beautiful story about a red panda’s family that lose their home.
I bought this book for my grandson as he loves red pandas. It is a lovely story with an environmental message which is not condescending. He has asked for it to be read to him numerous times. The illustrations are a delight too.
