There was a big flame.
Then a nest of ash.
In the nest there was an egg.
Out of the egg hatched a bird. A magical bird.
His feathers were strong like the wind,
soft like the clouds,
and red and gold like the sun.
He sang,
“I am tough.
I am strong.
My name is Flare!”

It also helped me discover a hack... he skinned up his knee pretty bad and was crying. I was trying to get him to let me put antibiotic ointment on it. After lots of hugs and kisses, I told him that it wouldn't hurt, we just needed to clean it up and bandaid it. Still he refused. Until I mentioned that my special ointment had Phoenix tears in it. It will help his owie heal faster. He immediately brightened and let me fix him up and was ecstatic when he learned that true to my word, it didn't hurt when I applied the ointment. A bit of an embellishment, but kids see magic in this world and it is powerful.
